Measles Epidemic in Samoa

As of today 62 people, mostly very young children have died in the Samoa measles outbreak. Samoa has a 30% vaccination rate and so far 4,000 have been infected and currently 200 are hospitalized. Measles is transmitted through the air and can infect 2 days after a sick person has left a room.

Emergency vaccinations and temporary hospital beds are in progress.
